Alexis was born and raised in Brantford, Ontario, the hometown of Wayne Gretzky, and recently moved to Calgary. Alexis provides legal services from the Calgary office at Grey Wowk Spencer LLP. Alexis’ primary goal in pursuing a legal career is to aid and defend those in need of a voice (including companion animals!).
Alexis obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology at the University of Western Ontario and then pursued her law degree at the University of Leicester, England. Upon return from England, Alexis attended Osgoode Hall Law School, where she obtained her Master of Laws with a concentration on the Canadian Common Law.
While completing her Master of Laws, Alexis volunteered for the Osgoode Family Law Project providing Pro Bono legal services at the Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto. Alexis assisted unrepresented litigants by filling out court forms, preparing documents for submission to the court, and learning about court procedures and the family law system. Alexis is a community-minded citizen who desires to use her legal training to foster positive societal change.
Outside of the office, Alexis can be found dancing, trampolining, golfing, zumba-ing, snowboarding, participating in animal sporting events, like dog sled racing, and advocating for animal rights.
